about me
24, an idealistic realist, closet soppy-movie lover, has petrol in his veins, imprisoned, (married to and totally consumed) by his work, but breaks out (less frequently nowadays) as his swashbuckling alterego to conquer the digital world, worships music, worships life and still trying desperately to 'first, do no harm'.

"When will you touch my life again?"

Once in a long while, a song just comes along and does something wonderful for you. Sorta like bottling up all the bliss from a fantastic weekend and savouring it for its entirety in the space of four minutes and twenty-two seconds.

'This is like smearing honey on Keira Knightley'

Apparently driving the new Audi A8 is like 'smearing honey on Keira Knightley'.

Honestly the car isn't really quite the looker (but Keira really is). This should have more aptly been the advertising pitch for the Z4 (zomg gorgeous), or TVR Tuscan Convertible (omgwtfbbq gorgeous).

Anyhow,

Gorgeous

Elephant

Life has been good after I started work, it really has. The weird thing during school is how people keep telling me that they miss being a student alot more. I'd disagree. Maybe it's too early in my career, but I'm enjoying my job, every moment of it, everything about it. The bad bits don't even come close to making me want to say 'I'd rather go back to school'.

That being said, this blog has been a place I rant about stuff whenever I wanted to, it's been around for like the longest time and I guess it's time to let it go. I think I'll still continue posting interesting stuff whenever I chance upon it, but the whole idea of having to write something once every couple of days is just too much because there usually isn't anything very interesting to write about, maybe there is, but then again there's patient confidentiality to worry about. So I'll write whenever there's something good to write about. Like this next song.

There are performers who sound as good live as they do on their retail albums, because they aren't tone deaf for starters, and it doesn't have to boil down to the the magic/effort of their sound engineers (Blink 182, Black Eyed Peas, etc.) that make them sound the way they do, they just are, great live performers.

Absolutely Swoon-worthy Music

I have a thing for soulful, melancholic, emo-ish violin solo-s. Here's one. There's another one from Gonzo's Romeo X Juliet anime. Anyone who'd like to buy me a present should consider getting me the OST from that anime. Many thanks in advance.

"Postcard for Henry Purcell" by Dario Marinelli. Incidentally it also happens to be an adaptation of a Purcell composition. Delightful music. Music from the motion picture "Pride and Prejudice".

Here Is Your ROFLMAOWTFBBQOMFGGNORE! TrafficWatch Update

"Shitguys, its a massive traffic jam inside Vivocity, lets call Chin and cancel prata plans at Casuarina"
"Hey, whats the number for the 938 Traffic Watch hotline"
Aya offers "6911..."
"Ah yes"
Mez dials 66911938.
*ringringring*
"Hello"
"Hi"
Mez tries valiantly to choke back laughter, disguises it as a hacking cough.
"Is this Newsradio 93.8 live? I'd like to report a traffic situation"
"Sure"
"There's a massive jam inside Vivocity Carpark which takes an hour and a half to get out of.
I'd like to advise people to stay away from Vivocity tonight"
Radio DJ laughs politely
"Bye."
"Goodbye and thanks"
One car-full of people erupt with insane laughter.

5 minutes later.

"And that concludes the Evening News, please stay tuned for a TrafficWatch update"
*Nondescript radio soundtrack hearlding the announcement of a traffic situation*

"Good evening, we had a caller reporting that there is a massive traffic jam inside the Vivocity carpark. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name. He'd like to advise the general public to stay away from Vivocity for tonight. However, I'm not too sure how practical that would be as the Great Singapore Sale is on and it's a school holiday night..."

Couple of learning issues
1. Don't go to Vivocity on a school holiday night with a bunch of people in your car who can make you question your sanity.
2. If you have to go to Vivocity by car, park in the public carpark near the market opposite Vivocity, or park at the cruise centre.
3. If you're not going by car, take public transport.
4. You can go down to 7-11 to buy drinks and take a dump in the space of 7-8 car lengths traversed.
5. The name is Mez.
6. Man that was retarded.
7. Zomg. My first TrafficWatch update. Damn I've made a difference to the world.

Wedding Vows That Can Melt The Most Frigid Heart

Judge for yourself, from Episode 25, Season 3 of Grey's Anatomy.

Cristina, I could promise to hold you and to cherish you. I could promise to be there in sickness and in health. I could say til death do us part, but I wont. Those vows are for optimistic couples, the ones full of hope, and I don’t stand here on my wedding day optimistic or full of hope. I am not optimistic, I am not hopeful. I am sure, I am steady, and I know that I’m a heart man. I take them apart, put them back together, I hold them in my hands. I am a heart man. So this I am sure, you are my partner, my lover, my very best friend. My heart, my heart, beats for you. And this day, the day of our wedding, I promise you this… I promise you to lay my heart in the palm of your hands. I promise you, me.

Just a couple of things to note/think about
1. Everyone else in the operating theatre seems to be female
2. Every female had that hungry, longing look in their eyes after he's talked the talk
3. If the patient on the operating table wasn't well anesthetized and she so happened to hear Burke's proclamation, supposing her already weak heart couldn't take the emotional orgasm and she dies on the table and her family sues Burke and wins, that'll be like the most LOL-retarded ending to the finale of season 3.
4. Sorry, point 3 is just an example of how an idle mind can result in technicolor results.
5. Stupid, STUPID, Cristina. (oops)

Waste of a Love Song

Okay, this song is a waste of a really sexy, sultry opening riff because whoever wrote it just couldn't be bothered to put proper lyrics into it "this is not a love song x 2000" just doesn't cut it. It's about as big and sad a mistake as having Lindsay Lohan top the Maxim Top 100 Hottest Girls for 2007 list. Seriously.

Man think of what this song could have been, it could have been as awesome as Sarah Khider's "Mermaid" which isn't getting enough exposure or airtime.

Blah. Noobs.

Night Call

1. I'm 110SGD richer
2. My feet/hands are sore as crap
3. My head is throbbing
4. I still feel like punching a few people
5. Its not really worth the money
6. Don't do medicine if you're not an altruistic freak or insane bastard
7. Doctors don't have mental breakdowns per se, they just end up smashing their phones/pagers
8. And when they actually try, it'd be great if the damn thing actually broke and not end up ringing sarcastically back a second later which just screams 'LOL!'
9. Life sucks, but it sucks differently for different people.

Dr.

Yep, I passed.

There's like 2 gazillion things to do and I'm running out of time before my life gets consumed by the monstrosity called work. Anyway, Gonzo's Romeo X Juliet is an incredibly beautifully animated series. Any series with that much attention paid to the backdrops deserves some amount of praise. Nevermind the fact that there's winged-horses in this anime, or the fact that Neo-Verona is a floating city, or the fact that the story is insanely, horridly and totally contorted beyond all semblance of being a Shakespearean adaptation. In fact Bill the playwright makes an appearance as a queen.

Anyway, I'm a sucker for anything R&J so I'm definitely going to be watching this.

Have a nice life people. I'll update whenever I can. As for now, I'm incredibly busy playing Guildwars.
